About Nimrod Week
Or: how a bad idea became a tradition.
Welcome to the official (and slightly questionable) hub for Nimrod Week — what started as a simple idea for an annual escape into the wilderness, and became a tradition of pushing boundaries, embracing discomfort, and making memories that range from the breathtakingly beautiful to the hilariously ill-advised.
Adventure isn't found within the comfort zone. It's somewhere out there, just past the point where common sense starts whispering... or maybe shouting... warnings. It's about calculated risks, maybe a few miscalculations, and definitely a readiness to laugh at ourselves when things inevitably go sideways (literally, if a canoe is involved).
Whether navigating unforgiving portages, getting thoroughly lost while staring at the map, or simply attempting to cook a meal that doesn't involve setting something on fire, Nimrod Week is an annual reminder that sometimes the best stories come from the moments you probably shouldn't have attempted. It's less about flawless execution and more about the spirit of "Hold my beer and watch this!"
What's the difference between a nimrod and an idiot?
It's .... subtle!
So join us in celebrating the spirit of questionable decisions that lead to unforgettable adventures.
